Classic Moment: England 4-2 Croatia, Euro 2004

Remember when Wayne Rooney used to score goals for England? Vaguely? Well, his last two competitive goals for England were this pair he scored against Croatia at Euro 2004. Check out some excitable commentary from John Motson, including the prophetic: "Is there nothing this boy can do!"

I was there in Portugal for that game - Rooney was immense that night. Unfortunately, he's been rubbish for England ever since (injuries haven't helped).

Don't you reckon we could have won that tournament had Sol's goal been allowed (What a deja-vu that was)?

Next would have been Holland, who were rubbish at the time and with a McClaren-esque manager at the helm, and then Greece, who we surely could have taken.

But, as they say, 'if my aunt had balls, she'd be my uncle. And if Macca had balls he'd try to find a new Rooney and Lampard instead of the two lookalikes he's fielding'.
